(A REFLECTION ON HUMAN LIFE)
Since life is transient and as it is too mysterious to comprehend, I think it is worth analysing its relevance. The notion that nobody is winning or losing in life may seem paradoxical at first glance.
After all, we are often conditioned to believe that success and failure are defined by our achievements, accomplishments & the outcomes of our hard work. However, when we broaden our perspective to encompass the vast expanse of the universe, it becomes quite evident that our individual pursuits are but a mere passing in eternity in the cosmic functioning of well-programmed orbits in countless milky ways where billions of constellations of stars rotate & shine for reasons not known even to astrophysicists.
The more we reflect on the complexity of nature, the more we become humble and humane. Then, there is no room for any audacity or greed, on which mundane mortals fight and vanish gaining hardly anything.
The universe, in all its infinite majesty, seems to be not dependent on human existence or the Earth’s fragile ecosystem. We are, in fact, minuscule particles of life, existing in the grand scheme of things. Our presence or absence has negligible impact on the universe’s well-planned functioning, on its expansion to infinite space. This realization can be both humbling and liberating.
In the face of such cosmic insignificance, our petty issues, lifelong enmities, and vengeful pursuits that dominate human affairs seem to be meaningless. Wars, conflicts on idealogies and the relentless pursuit of power are revealed to be futile exercises in a universe that operates according to its own laws, utterly indifferent to human objectives.
When we attempt to analyse the true nature of our existence within the ever-expanding universe, we may begin to transcend the limitatiobs of our ego-driven concerns. We may start to see that our rivalries and conflicts are but a small part of a much larger narrative; one that is ultimately designed by the universe itself, not by any human, however mighty he is. Of course, there is a programmer as Albert Einstein rightly observed.
As things appears to be too complex to comprehend, what matters is our willingness to appreciate the beauty and mystery of existence, to cultivate empathy & compassion towards all living beings, and to strive for harmony with nature.
In doing so, we may discover a sense of peace, unity and purpose that transcend the momentary concerns of human existence. It is in acknowledging our place within the ever expanding universe that we may find the wisdom to live in greater harmony with our fellow beings in this inexplicable cosmos. There we find peace and solace.
