German (Deutsch) is the language of the people who inhabit three nations in the heart of Europe viz. Germany, Austria and in Switzerland. Some of the greatest intellectuals who contributed to different branches of knowledge were Germans. Karl Marx, Goethe, Max Weber, Hegel, Kant, Nietzsche, Albert Einstein, Max Planck, Sigmund Freud, Wihelm Roentgen (X-Ray), Mozart, Beethoven etc. are but a few of the German names familiar to the world.
German universities have always been at the forefront of knowledge exploration, and Germany, despite the defeats she suffered in two World Wars, is one of the most advanced and technologically developed countries, with a very high standard of life. German universities offer opportunities to meritorious students from all parts of the world to pursue higher education.
And it is one of the few countries where education is free at all levels. Some German universities have direct links with industries, thus offering opportunities to aspiring students to pursue their career in these industries. Automobile companies like Mercedes – Benz, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, Porsche; chemical companies like Bayer, Hoechst, BASF; engineering and electronic companies like Siemens, Bosch etc. are but a few MNCs which have presence in many parts of the world, including India. Aspiring scientists and engineers have opportunities to learn and work in these companies.
Another field which has always welcomed Indian professionals is medicine. Indian doctors and nurses have been working in German hospitals and old age homes since the 1960s. Indian Nurses particularly have earned the affection and respect of German people through hard work and dedication. There are opportunities aplenty for Indian Medical professionals in the German speaking countries.
